Toward the end of May, I went out to Lake Chestermere to shoot an engagement session with Beth and Luke. They both grew up in this area, so it seemed like the best backdrop for their shoot. Luke's parents' house backs right onto the Lake, so we were set!

Ok, I'm already finding my blog-a-day goal hard to keep! I'm up against some album design deadlines at the moment, so that's consuming a lot of my time, but I'll be doing my best to get caught up on all this bloggin'!

So this brings me to early May when I got a call from Kristine Johns offering to fly me out to Vancouver to shoot portraits of her family as a surprise gift for her grandparents. SCORE! I love any excuse to get back to the WestCoast and Kristine's family was so fun to work with.

For starters, there were some pretty darn cute kids running around:

And then, my mission: fitting 13 siblings, spouses, cousins and children into one frame! Goodlooking family!

After the family shoot, we headed down to Granville Island for some lunch and another important shoot: Kristine and Mark's Engagement photos! They will be getting married on August 30, 2008 in Victoria.

Thanks for bringing me out to the Coast to capture all this for you guys! It was a pleasure. =)

WHOA! I just counted up at least 17 different posts I want to share with you about things I've been working on so far this year. I need to get my game face on! New Goal: A-blog-a-day (at least!) so I'm all caught up and "current" by the end of the month. Sound good? Feel free to hold me accountable! :)

So, another shoot from back in April. I met Berenice in January at the Bridal Fantasy Wedding Fair in Calgary. For their engagement session, she and Jeff decided we'd go to the Calgary Zoo. This shoot was a breeze! We found a ton of cool places to shoot, and these guys were a couple of naturals! Here's how a few of their shots turned out:

I told Jeff to pick up Berenice, and this is what he did!!! Ha! Whatever works!

Ok, it's time for a little time travel! As I mentioned, this blog is long overdue. I am a devotee of several other photographers' and friends' blogs, and I've been anxious to start-up my own blog for Pure Photo Group. Unfortunately, this task got temporarily buried among the many demands of moving to Calgary and launching my business in 2007. Now I'm all ready to dive into the blog and catch you up on what I've been doing this year.

To kick off, I'm taking you all the way back to April! James and I took a road trip to Vernon, BC to visit our good friends Josh & Karen Langner for the Easter Weekend. Karen was 7 months pregnant, so we did a shoot at their home on the lake to capture photos of them before the arrival of their baby. Here's how it went:

There is something about seeing Karen's smile in this one that I just LOVE! 

Then we added Josh to the scene:

We finished up with a few shots on the dock in their backyard. YES, their backyard! Sometimes it's tough living in the Okanagan...!

 It seems appropriate somehow to be making this post today, since it was exactly one year ago at Thanksgiving dinner 2006 that Josh & Karen announced to their friends that they were expecting! Of course, they have had their baby by now, so stay tuned! In a few more posts, you'll get to meet him!
